When was Gamma Eta founded?

Gamma Eta Sorority, Inc. was founded on October 18, 1995 at the University of Florida. Since then, we have been pursuing academic, professional, and personal excellence through our seven pillars. 

The Gamma Chapter of Gamma Eta Sorority, Inc. was founded on 2005 at the Univeristy of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

When do you recruit?

Rather than hold a recruitment period during the summer, Gamma Eta recruits primarily at the start of the fall semester. The process from then on is a private affair until induction into sisterhood.

What are your colors?

Purple and Teal

What are your symbols?

The sun and fleur de lis.

What’s your philanthropy?

At the National level, we work to bring awareness to breast cancer every October with our “When The Sun Shines Pink” campaign to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

At the Chapter level, Gamma Chapter supports Diabetes Awareness.

How much are dues?

Our dues vary every semester, but usually never go above $3oo. We have payment plans and scholarships to help sisters out if needed. We don't think money should be the reason you are not involved! 

Are you a latina sorority?

We are not! We are a multicultural sorority so we welcome sisters from every race/ethnicity/culture. Diversity is also one of our pillars of excellence, which means not only we have different culture, but we also have sisters from different fields, social backgrounds, socioeconomic status, religions, ideologies, etc.

Is there a GPA requirement?

Scholarship is one of our pillars and school will always go first for us. Sisters are required to have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
