Springdale Tornado Relief

ASCA, Coach Judy Koons at Springdale’s Southwest Jr. High School,  and Samaritan’s Feet International (SFI) was able to partner with the Springdale Rotary Club and George Elementary School on Saturday to assist with the tornado relief drive-thru event for our neighbors.

ASCA and SFI were thrilled to be invited to help with the George Elementary Family Support Event. Our small team distributed over 900 pair of socks, 250 “Hope Totes” and hygiene kits to children and adults alike to support their immediate need.

We were just one part of this larger, incredible event which took place with only 30+ hours of planning from our local volunteers and the Springdale Rotary Club.   Rough numbers: This event served a little over 200 cars, 1300+ family members, with around 200 volunteers and so many generous donors of supplies and materials.

We hope our small effort made a positive impact on those families who are hurting and we want to continue to expand our services through the ASCA Shoe Locker across the Springdale School District in their time of need.

The Arkansas Supply Chain Association works directly with the Springdale School District through their Community Outreach program called the Treehouse Pantry and our ASCA Shoe Locker that we sponsor.  We will undoubtedly see a large demand on the limited inventory for new athletic shoes, socks and hygiene kits that are in inventory today. It will not cover all the need that this tragedy created.
