Hello and welcome to our website! I am Grace Stoops, founder of SHOO. I wanted to give you a little insight into why I started SHOO and what we aim to accomplish on the UofA campus.

In October 2020, I was diagnosed with Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1), a life long STI. I had ample support at the Pat Walker Health Center (shout out Dr. Paulson), but didn’t find anything on campus that could support me or provide me with the comprehensive sex education I needed. I spent my winter break creating SHOO. I wanted to help students navigate the confusing world of sexual health, while reducing the stigma that surrounds STIs/STDs. SHOO’s goal is to provide an easily accessible, comprehensive sexual health education and a supportive, inclusive, and safe environment for students to learn and have important conversations. As of December 2021, SHOO has passed out well over 1,000 condoms, held an event with the medical consultant for the STD Division of the CDC, and held giveaways with sex toys. I encourage you to check out and join our amazing events and conferences we are so excited to hold in Spring 2022.

As always, SHOO is here for you. Check us out on instagram @uarkshoo, or shoot us an email at shoo@uark.edu!
