Alpha Beta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi

Standing Committees 2017-2018

Membership Committee.

The membership committee shall receive names of candidates’ suggestions for membership; obtain a list of valid candidates from the chapter counselor, co-counselor, designated faculty member or appropriate college/university staff administrator; prepare a list of eligible candidates and, together with the required information, present this to the appropriate chapter body.  The Membership Chair and committee will work with the Executive Board of Officers and Chapter Counselor(s) to plan, organize and set-up for the initiation ceremony.  This committee will also be responsible for outreach to current members of Alpha Beta Chapter who are not currently active.  This outreach shall include student members and professional members who are current in payment of national dues to the KDP Society Headquarters.

Program Committee.  

The President and Vice-President shall direct the Program Committee.  This committee shall be responsible for planning programs for the chapter and organizing social gatherings for members.  A historian will be appointed to compile a yearly scrapbook of the events of the KDP Alpha Beta Chapter.

Fund-Raising Committee.

The fundraising committee shall be responsible for planning fund-raising projects for the chapter, the Kappa Delta Pi Educational Foundation, and/or external organizations the missions of which are consistent of Kappa Delta Pi.  All Executive Board of Officers will serve as members of this committee and seek approval from Counselor(s) for fund-raising projects and events.

Community Service Projects Committee.  

The Community Service Projects Committee shall be directed by the Secretary and Treasurer and shall plan, organize and direct the community service projects with a focus of literacy enrichment.  This committee will report to the President, Vice-President and Counselor(s) on all planned projects and events for approval.  This committee will complete and submit the Literacy Alive! Report due on May 1.    

Historian Committee.

The Historian Committee shall be directed by the Historian. The Historian Committee shall be responsible for preserving the history of the Alpha Beta Chapter.  This committee will preside over the bulletin boards and all chapter displays. This committee will be responsible for the completion of the end of year scrap book compiled of pictures taken by the committee of the chapter’s accomplishments and events. This committee will be responsible for furnishing reports of chapter activities and submit applications for consideration and publication in appropriate Society communications.
