Office of the President: 

Katie Jones

Primary responsibilities:

  • Preside over the meetings of the chapter and the program committee.
  • Appoint committees subject to the advice and consent of the executive committee.
  • Perform all duties as specified in the chapter bylaws.
  • Coordinate the election and training of new officers.
  • Set dates for monthly meetings and socials
  • Ensure re-registration paperwork is submitted to the U of A registered student organization
  • Submit agenda to counselors 24 hours prior to chapter meetings
  • Oversee the work of the historian
  • Ensure completion of all officer reports on correct due dates

Office of the President Elect

Maria Zevallos

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assists in presiding over the meetings of the chapter
  • Assists in coordinating the election and training of new officers
  • Responsible for completing and submitting the Chapter Planning Report due on October 1st to National Society Headquarters with the assistance of the President
  • Semester Celebration Reports due December 15 and May 15 to National Society Headquarters with the assistance of the President
  • Year-End Summary Report due in June to National Society Headquarters with the assistance of the president
  • Preside over meetings in absence of President

Office of the Vice President

Erin Beckman

Primary responsibilities:

  • Presides over the community service project committee
  • Yearly plan for community service projects and activities
  • Plan, organize and direct community service activities and projects that focus on literacy enrichment
  • Organize Reading with the Razorbacks with UA Athletic Department and Fayetteville Public Library
  • Arrange for publicity for community service projects and events
  • Assist President elect in the absence of the President at meetings
  • Responsible for completing the Literacy Alive! Report due on May 1st to National Society Headquarters

 

Office of the Secretary:

Morgan Kazanovicz

Primary responsibilities:

  • Coordinate communication to general membership about meetings and events
  • Preparation to share minutes at monthly chapter meetings
  • The secretary will maintain inventory of all chapter files
  • Record the minutes of each meeting and submit to the Executive Board and Counselor(s) within three (3) business days along with agenda and financial report provided by the treasurer
  • Keep an updated roster of active Alpha Beta student members
  • Keep an updated roster of active professional members of Alpha Beta Chapter
  • The Secretary will co-direct the Membership Committee along with the Membership Chair  
  • The Secretary and Membership Chair will be responsible for completing and submitting the Initiation Report which is due to the National Headquarters Society two weeks after the initiation date

Office of Treasurer

Candace Price

Primary responsibilities:

  • The treasurer will maintain an accurate general ledger of the chapter’s finances
  • Preparation to share financial report at monthly chapter meetings
  • The treasurer will submit all receipts for reimbursement to the RSO Office in a timely manner.
  • The treasurer will direct the fundraising committee
  • Outline a yearly plan for fundraising projects and activities
  • Arrange for publicity for fundraiser projects and activities
  • Order t-shirts
  • Order necessary supplies
  • Organize election of officers in April
  • Complete the Annual Financial Report due on August 1st
  • Provide Secretary with monthly financial report for counselor report

Office of the Membership Chair

Ashlyn Garton

Primary responsibilities:

  • The membership chair will work with the Counselors to recruit students majoring in any K-12 education program on the University of Arkansas campus.
  • The membership chair will co-direct the Membership Committee along with the Secretary to plan recruitment talks to classes in each program
  • Roll call at monthly meetings (or sign-in sheet for attendance)
  • The membership chair will plan, organize and set-up initiation
  • Conduct the New Member Orientation
  • Communication outreach to all Alpha Beta Chapter members (student and professional) will also be the responsibility of the membership committee and directed by the membership chair
  • Keep an updated roster of active Alpha Beta student members
  • Keep an updated roster of active professional members of Alpha Beta Chapter
  • The membership chair will be responsible for completing and submitting the Initiation Report which is due to the National Headquarters Society two weeks after the initiation date
  • Maintain and update social media accounts
  • Presides over Membership Committee

Office of the Historian

Kendall Enneking

Primary responsibilities:

  • Furnish reports of chapter activities and submit applications for consideration and publication in appropriate Society communications.
  • Assist the Chapter Counselor in the preservation of the charter, documents, and historical records of the chapter.
  • Preside over displays (bulletin boards)
  • Preside over the end of year scrap book
  • Take pictures at all events and meetings to put in end of year scrap book
  • Responsible for membership education of Kappa Delta Pi history and purpose
  • Presides over historian committee
